Who we are

At the Tender Feet Nursery School, we have developed a curriculum that is both comprehensive and intellectually stimulating. It is an integration of Montessori, Waldorf and Reggio Emilia Methods. Our primary aim is to develop a dynamic child with strong moral values and a passion for learning. This well balanced curriculum provides for hands on, exploratory learning experiences that make learning fun and enjoyable for the children. Our main stress is on developing the children’s language, social & emotional skills, through gross-motor activities, songs, rhymes, dramatization & storytelling. In other words, we engage the children in the language. We encourage concepts of kindness, respect for elders, sharing, table-manners etc. Given the strong foundation we lay, our children show excellence wherever they go.

The school focuses on all-round development of each child and works towards making them responsible, kind and respectful citizens. We make them learn both the knowledge and its limitation. The purpose, the aim and the drive of the school is to equip the child with most excellent technological proficiency so that the child functions with clarity and efficiency in the modern world. Emphasis is on learning and facilitation. I recognize the fact that each child is unique and one size does not fit all.

Mrs. Shireen Kumar, an Independent Education Management Professional, has a demonstrated history in the education management industry. Graduated from Sacred Heart Convent School, Dalhousie, Ms. Shireen is an M.A., M.Phil. She is skilled in Budgeting, Curriculum Development, Public Speaking, Leadership and Project Management. She has also served as a lecturer at the most prestigious college BBK DAV College for Women in Amritsar for a period of six years. With an experience of over twenty five years of running a school independently, she holds the ability to set up and run any play school, anywhere, today.

Tender Feet Nursery School has been a project very close to heart for Ms. Shireen. She has devoted 28 precious years to this school to bring it to the heights it has achieved today. She aspires to bring the best to her students as well as the staff. Without being commercially driven, she has always made utmost efforts to provide the best education to all her students without any discrimination. She has a strong will to create an unmatched international academic excellence for her school, Tender Feet.

History & Foundation

The school was established in 1993 for the students in the age group of 2 to 6+ years. Started by Mrs. Prabha Tandon, Principal, Government college, Amritsar, it is now being run by Mrs. Shireen Kumar, M.A., M.Phil., ex. Lecturer BBK DAV College, Amritsar. Having devoted many years to education and research, we have now honed a Curriculum which is an integration of Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio-Emilio and PDP.

Education & Curriculum

Our school gives freedom and flexibility to students and teachers. The students are encouraged to think and deduce answers through guidance and correction.

The school has a futuristic curriculum that puts equal emphasis on academics and personality development.
It provides complete care, emphasizing on the all-round development of the student.

Early childhood education serves as the foundation for all future learning . It is the period of learning to learn. Focuses on the developmental milestones in the areas of cognitive, linguistic, creative, social and physical development. This learning design leads a child to inquire and seek answers on their own.

Mission

Education for us is a process which takes along students, educators and spiritual learning. It helps children discover their gifts and talents, helping them connect better to the world around them. It inspires and equips them to be responsible and compassionate world citizens.

Facilities

The school environment and physical setting has a deep impact on a child's growing years. Tender Feet Nursery School is located at M-28, Green Avenue, Amritsar on a sprawling plot of land having a park in the front with Jungle GYM. Careful attention has been given to create uncluttered, happy spaces where children can explore and learn, unhindered.
